After...
Many seasons have passed since everything changed. There
are no more masters, no more lights, no more metal
monsters, no more endless noise. The city and its
constructs are quiet now. It is unlikely any being still
lives who remembers 'Before'.
Beyond the mountains is wasteland. Even with how much
time has passed, peoples of all kinds still make their
way to our haven.
All are welcome here, though it is left to them to
govern their own tribes. We keep to the dark places. We
remain hidden. It is better that way.
=====================
Cities are overgrown, buildings are crumbling. Cars
were left to rust on pavement collapsing into sewers
below. Wilderness is reclaiming civilization.
Animals moved into places previously occupied by humans,
thriving - or perishing - in their masters' absence.
Creatures have adapted to their new, strange habitat
Zoo animals were freed. Some died, unable to care for
themselves, but many survived and have formed their own
tribes (herds, packs, etc).
After...MUCK is a 'talking
animal' wildlife role-play MUCK set in a fictional world after
the mysterious disappearance of humanity. Approximately 50-70
years have passed since the cities were abandoned and left to
the ravages of nature.
Our setting is roughly based on a Northern California/Northwest
US environment, but it is not a specific real-world location.
Animals encountered are either animals native to that region of
the North American continent or descendants of animals that were
released or escaped from zoological parks, farms, private
menageries and rescues and were able to survive in this
environment. (Species List).
While the animals are capable of communication with each other,
they are 'normal' animals, anthropomorphized to the degree of
animals in Disney movies and the like (Bambi, Lion King,
Watership Down, Lady and the Tramp, etc). They are not
super-intelligent, they do not wield weapons or wear clothing.
The only exception to this is the Varg , which is a special
case.
RP on the MUCK will focus on the animals and their interactions
and lives in this post-human world with its new species with
which to contend and all of its hazards.
Time on the MUCK passes naturally, one IC day = one RL day, as
such, seasons and time of day are roughly synched with real life
west coast North America.
Please note that Nature is a cruel, cruel mistress. Life is
hard, and the RP on the MUCK is likely to involve MATURE
themes. Strong language, violence, death, injury and
possibly sex.
